Radio Assist at RFI For Paris-Dakar Rally

Radio Assist at RFI For Paris-Dakar Rally

Radio France Internationale (RFI) used a portable version of the Netia Radio Assist system to conduct its coverage of the Paris-Dakar 2000 rally, which began in Dakar, Senegal, and finished in Cairo, Egypt.
Netia equipped an RFI laptop computer with Radio Assist editing, recording and exporting tools, which allowed the journalist to prepare reports, assemble them and send them back to France via the Internet in ISO/MPEG Layer III or RealAudio format.
The Pentium II-based computer was also fitted with a Digigram PCXpocket v3 soundcard.
