Radio at the Super Bowl

There will be no shortage of Super Bowl coverage from sports radio broadcasters

Dial Global may have the exclusive rights to broadcast Super Bowl XLVII on radio but that hasn’t prevented pretty much every other radio sports network, and there are several now, from setting up shop in New Orleans like they own the Super Bowl.

For ESPN Radio, “Mike & Mike in the Morning,” “The Herd with Colin Cowherd,” “SVP & Russillo” along with “Hill & Schlereth” are all broadcasting from various locations in New Orleans during Super Bowl week. Not surprisingly, ESPN Radio has a number of Super Bowl specials in the schedule as well.

Dial Global’s sports radio partner, NBC Sports Radio has sent its “The Erik Kuselias Show,” “Amani and Eytan” daily shows have set up camp in New Orleans while “Speaking of Sports with Rob Simmelkjaer” is planning a special. “NBC Sports Radio Update” anchor Kay Adams is doing segments from New Orleans.

Spanish-language AM network, Univision America will provide the Spanish-language radio coverage of the Super Bowl.

CBS Sports Radio brought all of its daytime lineup, 6 a.m.–6 p.m. to New Orleans, including Jim Rome. It also plans special programs too.

ESPN Radio, NBC Sports Radio and CBS Sports Radio are also taking advantage of their TV siblings and there’ll be plenty of crossover programming.

Yahoo! Sports Radio will be utilizing its Yahoo! Sports Internet operation, along with using station personnel for its Super Bowl programing.
