Radio is the star at the Radio Festival of the Museum of Television & Radio this month in New York and Los Angeles.
Events run for a week and a half on both coasts, beginning Oct. 18. Radio celebrities from today and from years past are on the program.
In New York, session topics include the art of radio documentaries, a retrospective of WPLJ(FM) and a conversation with Dan Ingram. In Los Angeles, features include the changing face of radio, an interview with Chick Hearn and a tribute to personalities of the 1950s and ’60s including Wink Martindale, Casey Kasem, Perry Allen and Art Laboe.
The festival includes live broadcasts from both cities, open to the public. They include Mike and the Mad Dog, Latino Mix, John Gambling, the Phil Hendrie Show, Morning Becomes Electric with Nic Harcourt and others.
