Radio Financials Should Hit Their Marks This Quarter

Predictions about radio’s second quarter business numbers from Marci Ryvicker of Wachovia Capital Markets:
Clear Channel and Entercom are likely to beat analyst expectations. Clear Channel’s radio business is benefiting “as a result of persistent audience share gains, easy (comparisons to last year) and the company’s focus on delivering local content via multi-distribution platforms,” she said. Entercom “should benefit as a result of a much-improved Boston market, easing New Orleans comps and aggressive share repurchase activity.”
Sort of pleasant news: She listed no companies as likely to miss expectations because she thinks radio stock prices already take into account a weak second quarter.
