Radio Gaakii Goes On-Air

The FM dial in Ghana gets a new player

Northeastern Ghana has a new radio station, Radio Gaakii, 88.3 on the local FM dial.

Radio Gaakii is a project of Theovision, an Africa-based Christian ministry. Aiding Theovision in the development of the station was HCJB Global. It provided equipment and training for the station and its staff.

According to the Theovision website, local dignitaries, politicians, government and tribal leaders along with local residents were in attendance. The full-time station will broadcast in four local languages: Konkomba, Baasare, Twi and Hausa.

Radio Gaakii, located in Saboba, is the third Theovision station to go on air in the last two years.
