Mark Charnock is joining Radio One as the new chief digital officer of Reach Media and the Local Radio One Group, CEO Alfred Liggins announced. Additionally, the company will be renamed Urban One.
For over 23 years Charnock has worked in both start-up and established media firms. According to the release, he specializes in “building infrastructure and growing business capacity and digital revenue streams.”
Charnock most recently was employed at Monster as senior vice president of media and sales; he’s been with Monster for 13 years in various sales positions.
Liggins said Charnock “will help us grow that revenue stream over time.”
Radio One is a diversified media company that primarily targets African-American and urban consumers.
