Radio Revenue Flat in February

Radio Revenue Flat in February

Radio revenue was flat in February compared to the same month a year ago, according to RAB.
Local ad sales were flat; the national component was down 1% and non-spot revenue fell 5%.
For the year to date, total spot and non-spot dollars increased 1% over last year’s pace.
“Radio revenue is leveling out as the industry adapts and evolves to the new consumer centric marketplace,” President/CEO Gary Fries stated. Despite the February numbers, he described radio as in “a growth mode in every aspect as innovative new formats debut, new advertising platforms are developed and digital radio technology rolls out.”
