Overall radio revenue was up in April, compared to the same month last year, by 4%. Local ad dollars were up 4% and national sales figures were up 6%, all according to the Radio Advertising Bureau.
For the first third of the year, U.S. radio revenue grew 4%.
“The positive results for April are encouraging, as we begin to see a strengthening in radio revenues compared to last year,” said Gary Fries, president and CEO of RAB. He predicted “increased acceleration” in the second half.
