The RAB said national spot dollars jumped 6% in January compared to the same month last year, helping overall radio revenue increase 3%. Local ad sales were up 2% and non-spot revenue, increased 2%.
The industry last year posted overall growth of 2% in numbers released last month by RAB.
The bureau’s president, Gary Fries, said several significant new categories for radio sales have emerged.
