Radio Show Tech Sessions Coming Together

‘It ain’t your father’s radio station anymore…’ Learn why

NAB Technology offers three days of technical sessions at the upcoming Radio Show, Sept. 19–21 in Dallas.

Regulatory issues, HD Radio, new hybrid radio and disaster preparedness are some of the broad overall themes for technical sessions at this year’s show.

According to the NAB panelists plan to drill down to the latest developments for EAS, FM translators versus LPFMs and RF/OSHA safety on Sept. 19. Wireless collocation on broadcast towers that may provide additional revenue streams for radio owners is a big topic for that day. Members of the National Radio Systems Committee also plan to meet that day.

Experts plan to discuss the latest HD Radio technical developments, including a tutorial on how to implement Artist Experience on Sept. 20. New devices for other media platforms — on-air plus online services — could offer rich graphic and video content to supplement audio. Also for that day is engineering management — key issues engineers need to understand when making proposals to their managers.

Disaster preparedness rounds out the program for Sept. 21 as does “Tips from the Workbench,” with Elenos U.S. Director of Technical Services/Education John Bisset, who’s also a Radio World columnist.

NAB says its technology program will offer ample time to network with peers and meet with exhibitors who can assist with technical challenges and offer fresh solutions.
