Conference sessions on tap during the event include “Smart apps, Smart Speakers and Smart Cars — Getting Them to Work for Your Station;” “How AI Will Influence the World of Radio and How Close This Future is Today;” “Visions for the Future of Radio — New Digital Listening Habits;” “Podcasting Health Check;” and “Three Ways to Keep Radio Profitable in the Next Five Years.”
Among speakers will be Sibyle Veil, chief executive officer, Radio France; Noel Curran, director general, EBU, Switzerland; Brenda Salinas, Google, U.K.; Ben Chapman, head of digital for BBC Radio and Music, U.K.; Mustafa Isik, co-founder and CEO of media technology start-up Kerngedanke, Germany; and Thomas Kabke-Sommer, managing director, Crossplan Deutschland, Germany.
In addition, running as a spin off to Radiodays will be the third edition of the Radio Hack Europe by Radiodays Europe, taking place from Friday March 29 to Sunday March 31. This 48-hour “open development and prototyping” event, supported in part by the MediaRoad project and led by the Initiative for Media Innovation (IMI),” will be based around the theme “Radio and media of tomorrow.”
According to organizers, an international jury of experts will evaluate the ideas and prototypes developed during the hackathon, and the winners will present their work to the participants of the main Radiodays Europe conference on April 2.
