RadioDNS General Assembly, Hackday Set

Radio-and-IP convergence project plans updates on standards

The RadioDNS project will hold its fourth General Assembly at European Broadcasting Union headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on 15 February.

For those not travelling to Switzerland, the meeting will be available to attend via teleconference and webinar.

RadioDNS looks to bridge radio broadcasting with IP services to enhance and extend the medium.

On the agenda for the assembly are updates from project working groups, as well as officer and steering board elections.

Registration for the event is through the EBU’s website. To attend via teleconference or webinar, place the word “telephone” or “web” in the comments field.

Also on 15 February, RadioDNS and the EBU are hosting a “hackday,” a hands-on technical workshop for software developers and hackers who want to hack and develop code for the various RadioDNS standards.

Live DAB and FM signals, as well as USB reception devices, code repositories and libraries, and content servers will be available. Space is limited to about 30 people and their laptops, so preregistration is required and priority will be given to RadioDNS members.
