RadioDNS Welcomes BMW Group

Sees increasing interest from automotive sector in adopting open standards for hybrid radio in the car

The RadioDNS organization has announced that BMW Group is now part of its hybrid radio project, joining automotive sector members and members from the broadcast radio industry in the United States, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

With RadioDNS technology standards published by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), RadioDNS hybrid radio is the European Broadcasting Union’s recommended standard for hybrid radio in Europe. The National Association of Broadcasters represents RadioDNS members in the United States.

“We’re really pleased to welcome the BMW Group to the project, as they bring expertise and insight into how we can create a compelling radio experience in the car using hybrid radio techniques,” said Nick Piggott, Radio DNS project director. “Listeners will benefit automatically from enhanced radio using their integrated car radio without having to use a smartphone or download an app.”
