Radioplayer Collects 300 Stations

U.K. online player coverage grows, adds two new app options

Radioplayer, the online radio platform that connects public, private, community and online broadcasters from across the United Kingdom, announced the 300th station to join the project.

Local station Splash FM in West Sussex launched on Radioplayer on 15 November. Of the move, the Radioplayer blog noted it “is a great example of a relatively small commercial radio group seeing the advantages of joining Radioplayer. It’s a ‘level playing-field’, which puts them one click away from the biggest stations in the UK, and millions of potential listeners.”

The 300-station benchmark is notable as is almost double the number Radioplayer launched with in March.

Also, two new app-based versions of the online player platform have been launched — a desktop version based on Adobe AIR for PC-, Mac- or Linux-based systems and a plug-in app for Google’s Chrome browser. These join the existing Radioplayer Facebook app.
