RadioShack Promotes Weather Alert Receivers

The Shack wants Americans to buy more weather alert receivers.
“RadioShack supports NOAA’s goal to have weather alert radios become as common as smoke detectors in homes, schools and businesses to help save lives and property,” stated Stu Asimus, senior vice president and chief merchandising officer, according to a press release issued by the company. It tied the onset of storm season to a need for greater awareness of weather alert receivers for homes, businesses and schools.
“Considering today’s advanced communications technology, there’s really no excuse not to own a weather alert radio, because they’re very affordable and long lasting,” Asimus was quoted.
“Regardless, it’s a small price to pay when, literally, even a few seconds advance warning of a developing catastrophic situation can mean the difference in finding safe shelter for an individual or a family or not.”
