RadioShack will start carrying HD Radios, possibly as soon as May.
As RW Online has reported, the retailer is closing some locations and moving out old, slower-moving merchandise with new, faster-moving merchandise within higher growth categories in what it’s calling a “turnaround plan” to boost profits.
HD Radios will be some of those new product offerings “in select markets,” a spokesman confirmed to Radio World. RadioShack plans to carry the Boston Acoustics Recepter HD and is evaluating options beyond that.
In February, RadioShack said it intends to close 400–700 stores out of nearly 7,000 total retail locations.
