RadioWorks Taps IDC SuperFlex for Distribution

The group is implementing a distribution system for its stations to more than 300 locations across New Zealand.

Kiwi broadcasting group RadioWorks is installing SuperFlex satellite products from International Datacasting Corp. (IDC) to modernize its national radio network.

Auckland, New Zealand-based distributor AVW is providing IDC SFX2102 Pro Audio satellite receiver, NetManager and Production Manager products to RadioWorks.

The group is implementing a distribution system for its stations to more than 300 locations across New Zealand. The DVB-S2-based satellite network supports the integration of live satellite feeds with advanced store and forward features.

The DVB-S/S2 operating modes of the SFX2102F receiver allow for interoperability with the existing TVWorks television platform and the terrestrial WAN capability should these modes be required for maximum uptime and availability. (TVWorks is the television division of MediaWorks, the parent company of RadioWorks.)

AVW will implement the new uplink system and provide in-country support on the SuperFlex Pro Audio system.
