Friends say that Denver-area broadcast engineer Jeff Gulick is undergoing a battle with bone cancer that involves chemotherapy, and suffering pain and nausea from the treatment. He is scheduled for bone marrow and stem cell transplant procedures in coming weeks.
Gulick is unemployed, with doctors advising he will be unable to return to work for at least another year. His sole source of income is a modest investment return, which supporters say is rapidly depleting due to medical insurance costs.
