RAJAR Measures Further Increases in UK Digital Platform Usage

The share of UK radio listening via a digital platform now stands at 29.1 percent of all radio listening increasing from 25 percent last year.

RAJAR has released its audience measurements for the UK for the final quarter of 2011. The results show:

— The share of radio listening via a digital platform now stands at 29.1 percent of all radio listening increasing from 25 percent in Q4 2010 (28.2 percent Q3, 2011).
— DAB listening increased its share from 15.8 percent in Q42010 to 19.4 percent in Q42011.
— Internet listening currently stands at 3.4 percent for Q42011 up from 3.1 percent in Q42010.
— Digital listening hours for Q42011 are up 15 percent from 26.2 million hours in Q42010, to 30 million hours this quarter.
— 15.1 percent of adults aged 15+ listened to the radio via mobile phone in Q42011 up 14.1 percent year over year.
