RAJAR Names New Chairman

David Mansfield has taken over from Lord Gordon of Strathblane as chairman of Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR).

David Mansfield has taken over from Lord Gordon of Strathblane as chairman of Radio Joint Audience Research (RAJAR).

Lord Gordon retired earlier this year after four years as RAJAR chairman.

“Measuring audience behavior is a significant challenge for all media and particularly radio, which is at the forefront of the digital revolution,” said Mansfield. “RAJAR is the world’s leading radio audience research body and has been highly successful in enabling both the public and commercial sectors to work constructively together for the good of the industry.”

Prior to assuming his current post as an executive director at Ingenious Media, Mansfield worked at Capital Radio, where he was appointed chief executive in 1997. When Capital Radio merged with GWR to form GGAP Media in May 2005, Mansfield remained as chief executive until September 2005.

Mansfield has also been an active board member of the Commercial Radio Companies Association and the Radio Advertising Bureau — which merged in July 2006 to form the RadioCentre — as well as the Digital Radio Development Bureau (DRDB). He is a fellow of the Radio Academy.
