Randall Mays Now Clear Channel President

Randall Mays is now president of Clear Channel Communications, Inc., taking over the title from his brother, Mark, who remains chief executive officer.
A spokeswoman said the change is in recognition of Randall’s expertise. He has served as a director of the company since April 1999 and was most recently executive vice president and chief financial officer. With this change, Randall retains his CFO title.
Their father, L. Lowry Mays, said in a statement: “Randall has demonstrated outstanding operational and financial acumen in both his leadership of strategic initiatives as well as the company’s realignment,” said Chairman of the Board L. Lowry Mays, referring to last April’s spin-off of Clear Channel Entertainment and an initial public offering of approximately 10% of Clear Channel Outdoor.
Lowry Mays said Randall’s “commitment to quality, combined with his focus on creating shareholder value, can now be more broadly applied across the company.”
After suffering a stroke in 2005, L. Lowry Mays, founder and chairman of the company, relinquished his position as CEO to his son, Mark who has served as Clear Channel’s President/COO since 1993. Now, the president title is moving from Mark to Randall.
