Streamer Rdio has updated its Windows Phone app. The Cumulus-backed company says the change means now its streaming service is available across all major mobile platforms.
The San Francisco-based Rdio says the update allows it to deliver its mix of two services: free ad-supported Internet radio and unlimited on-demand subscriptions.
Rdio on Windows Phone complements the streaming service’s existing presence on Windows products, including a Windows 8 app featuring live tiles.
Like its competitors, Pandora and Spotify, Rdio has its eyes on overseas markets. Rdio is set to expand to India with other Asian markets to follow, reports the New York Post. Rdio is available in 60 countries to-date.
The Post projects the streaming music space to heat up in 2015 as consumers move away from buying digital downloads through Apple iTunes in favor of unlimited listening services like Rdio and Spotify.
