Country music artist Reba McEntire has signed onto a joint venture label with Big Machine and Cumulus.
She made the announcement on “America’s Morning Show,” telling host Blair Garner that it is her first new music in five years.
Big Machine Label Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta and the artist have a business relationship that dates to 1991.
Cumulus Media EVP Content and Programming John Dickey said McEntire is the first artist to sign on with the new label. In May, Big Machine and Cumulus rolled out a joint venture under the Nash Icon brand, creating a record label called Nash Icon Music.
Cumulus operates 16 Nash Icon radio stations and will distribute the Nash Icon content to stations nationally through its Westwood One syndication service.
