Regent Communications Inc. announced financial results for the second quarter. Net broadcast revenues increased 37.5 percent to $14.7 million. That’s from $10.7 million reported for the same time last year. For the same period, station operating expenses increased to $9.9 million from $7 million. As a result of these figures, second quarter 2001 broadcast cash flow increased 31.5 percent to $4.8 million from $3.6 million reported from the same time last year.

On a same-station basis, including results from stations operated during the second quarter for both the 2001 and 2000 periods, net broadcast revenues, sans barter, jumped 5.2 percent to $8 million. Same-station operating expenses, sans barter, increased 14.1 percent to $5.4 million. Same-station broadcast cash flow for the second quarter of 2000 decreased 9.8 percent to $2.6 million. According to the company, same-station broadcast cash flow was adversely impacted by investment spending in Regent’s developing radio properties.
