Registration Opens for 2012 IBA IT/Engineer Workshop

Late October event brings together broadcasters and industry vendors to learn and network

The Indiana Broadcasters Association announces its 2012 IBA Annual IT/Engineer Workshop will be held from Oct. 29–30 in Carmel, Ind.

Workshop topics include a discussion of FCC RF safety regulations and how to avoid getting into hot water with the regulators, a history of audio over IP, the Internet’s effect on broadcasting, how to avoid major outages, and an overview of fiber and its applications. There will also be specialized radio and television breakout workshops.

The schedule includes a vendor reception on Oct. 29 from 5:30–7:30 p.m. (EST) and a continental breakfast the following morning prior to the workshops. The event closes with “Beer ’N Bull with Engineers,” for what the program calls a discussion of “real day-to-day engineering issues.”

The event’s sponsors and vendors include Audio-Technica, BSW, Comrex, ENCO, Harris, the Telos Alliance, Tieline, Belden and more.

Registration is currently open and can be done through email, mail or fax. The two-day event costs $100.

A block of rooms has also been reserved for overnight accommodations at the Renaissance Hotel. The deadline to secure a room is Oct. 8.
