GfK Switzerland and Marketing and Consulting for Digital Broadcasting Technologies have reported that 2015 saw the sale of 454,000 DAB+ receivers across Switzerland, an increase in sales by 20 percent. With those figures, at the end of 2015 Switzerland reportedly had nearly 2.4 million pieces of equipment operational with DAB+ reception.
Home audio and the automotive sector are key areas of growth for DAB+ receivers, according to the study, with 65 percent of car manufacturers supplying DAB+ as standard.
The report also indicates that there are 90 DAB+ radio stations on the air in Switzerland, with some broadcasting exclusively in DAB+.
