RF Specialties Group Adds Four

Experienced professionals join sales, accounting teams

Broadcast industry equipment supplier RF Specialty Group has recently added John George, Bob Groome, Tom Driggers and Tara Littlejohn to its staff.

RF Specialties has added George as representative of its line of RF and studio equipment in the Southeastern United States. George began his career as a disc jockey, progressing through programming, sales, engineering and station ownership. He has worked in sales for Harris Corp., Dielectric Communications, LBA Technology and Broadcast Connection. George also provides technical services for radio stations in South Carolina and was responsible for the upgrade of WUSC(FM), the University of South Carolina’s student radio station, to full digital HD Radio in 2007.

George is co-chairman of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association Engineering Committee, and he is a member of IEEE, the SBE and an associate member of the Association of Federal Communications Consulting Engineers.

Groome will also work in the Southeastern market. He has been a station engineer, consultant, announcer, chief engineer, group director of engineering, contract engineer and most recently a sales engineer. Groome did field work for Carl E. Smith Consulting Engineers, was a Harris Broadcast field service engineer, and manufactured PC boards for General Electric subcontracting to NASA.

Groome joins RF Specialties from Electronic Research Inc., where he worked as West Coast radio manager and was previously national sales manager for Jampro Antennas. Groome’s earlier endeavors include Arrakis Systems, Wheatstone Corp., Cetec Broadcast Group and Allied Broadcast Equipment.

Groome has a BSEE from Stanford Hill University, an associate’s degree in Electronic Technologies from Orlando Electronic Institute, is a certified first class engineer (NARTE) and a member of SBE.

Driggers will join the company’s Northwest regional offices. He has over 30 years’ experience in radio and television. Driggers has designed, built and maintained multiple facilities of various sizes in small and major markets, from studios to high power transmitter facilities. Driggers has also owned and operated stations during his career.

Littlejohn will be the accountant and sales assistant for the Southwestern and Southeastern regions, based in RF Specialties’ Texas office. She is new to the radio and television world but has a background is in accounting and sales.
