RFA Opens Toll-Free Cantonese Hotline

Radio Free Asia has opened a toll-free listener hotline for Cantonese speakers in southern China and Hong Kong.
Initial calls to the hotline focused on Chinese coverage of the war in Iraq and the SARS virus. The phone numbers are open Monday through Friday from 11:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Chinese time. Callers from inside of China should dial 10810, then 877-898-2246; from Hong Kong dial 800-96-111, then 877-898-2246; from Taiwan callers dial 00-801-10-288-0, then 877-898-2246.
RFA is a private corporation with funding voted by the U.S. Congress to broadcast news and information to Asian listeners who do not have regular access to balanced reporting in their domestic media.
