RFE/RL said a Baghdad correspondent who had been missing for almost two weeks was released by her captors.
Jumana Al-Obaidi works for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty’s Arabic-language service, Radio Free Iraq. She was kidnapped from her car on Oct. 22 on her way to an interview at the Iraqi Environment Ministry. Her driver was shot and killed that morning and his body found dumped in the street.
Organization officials thanked authorities in Baghdad and media groups including the Committee to Protect Journalists and Reporters Without Borders for helping in the case.
