RIAA Pleased With Streaming Decision

Recording Industry Association President/CEO Hilary Rosen had a favorable response to the federal court decision throwing out the broadcaster’s appeal on streaming royalties. “We are pleased that the court upheld the rights of artists and record companies. We now look forward to working with the broadcasters for a smooth transition into this marketplace.”
NAB is consideration its options. NAB and several broadcasters appealed an earlier U.S. Copyright Office decision that found broadcasters responsible for paying separate royalties for streamed content. The Copyright Office has begun hearings to determine the fee amounts.
