We’re used to hearing music-on-hold while on the phone, but how about a newscast?
That’s what Chicago-based streamer HearHere Radio, parent of Rivet News Radio, aims to do.
HearHere has teamed up with conference call provider InterCall; their agreement brings Rivet’s top news playlists to select InterCall services, providing callers with national and world news while waiting for calls to begin.
“Rivet’s smart audio content works with InterCall’s technology to enhance the ‘on-hold’ experience with engaging stories that will improve participant satisfaction,” says HearHere Radio CEO John MacLeod. “News stories are short, complete, relevant and are refreshed throughout the business day.”
Rivet says its stories are made for mobile use from the get-go, not repurposed from broadcast or cut out of a podcast. The company plans to make Rivet stories available across all devices and services.
Recently launched, Rivet Select is tailored for business partners and individual clients. Rivet’s content team and lab of technical engineers collaborate to develop specialized news streams for play in commercial spaces.
“Adding an option like Rivet News gives waiting participants some current news items that might be overlooked throughout their day. It provides an ice-breaker moment when a meeting begins, similar to the usual banter that occurs in person,” says InterCall EVP Conferencing and Collaboration Rob Bellmar.
The Rivet app is available for both Android and Apple devices. The service also delivers personalized audio playlists to Jaguar Land Rover InControl units.
