Publish date:

The Hill Country of central Texas will be the place to be come Nov. 14–16 when the Roots Music Association holds its first World United Music Festival & Radio Conference, intended to be an annual event.

Besides the good music to be heard across seven stages, conferences at the festival aim to acquaint attendees and artists with opportunities for recording and live broadcasts.

Special effort is being made to attract radio personalities and shows covering “roots” music. Roots, for festival purposes, here is defined as anything from bluegrass to Tejano, western swing to Zydeco, reggae to gospel, country to jazz.

Independent record producers are also encouraged to attend.

The site is the Embassy Suites Convention Center in San Marcos, Texas. And if the music doesn’t completely satisfy you there is plenty of good food to be found in the neighboring environs.
