Radio Televisyen Malaysia has upgraded its regional station in Ipoh to software solutions company Netia’s Radio-Assist 8.1. The Radio-Assist family of digital audio software programs has been in use at RTM for about a decade, and the Ipoh station worked with Broadcast Communications International for the transition.
“This upgrade to Radio-Assist 8.1 will introduce greater efficiency and productivity while requiring very little training,” said Benjamin Schvent, Netia’s APAC operations manager. With this advancement, the Ipoh station will have a new audit module, Activity Watcher, which enables administrators to trace and check modifications made to the playlist and across the system, and users can check who has connected or disconnected and what items were deleted.
Based in Kuala Lumpur, RTM operates four television channels (TV1, TV2, IMRT, Muzik Aktif), six national radio stations, two international stations (Voice of Malaysia) and 16 regional stations. Currently, 13 regional centers are digitized due to Radio-Assist software, which covers each part of the production and broadcast workflow.
