Rush Gets a Star, Halper Gets Some Credit

The band’s lead singer calls Donna Halper ‘a fiercely passionate and highly-opinionated woman and ... a tireless supporter.’

Radio historian and media consultant/writer Donna Halper is featured in a profile in the Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Mass.

She is credited with discovering Rush — and has no doubt spent a great deal of time saying “not that Rush, the other one.” Now she has been instrumental in helping the rock group win a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, entering in the same “class” as the likes of Cameron Diaz and the Village People.

Halper, who also contributes to Radio World, discovered the rock band while working at a Cleveland radio station in the early ‘70s.
