Russell Rush Wins Emmy Award

KXXM host’s paranormal investigation show wins second Lone Star Emmy

Emmy-winner Mike Beltran at the Lone Star Emmys. Guess what’s in the box. Russell Rush, afternoon host at Clear Channel’s San Antonio station KXXM(FM) Mix 96.1 has done something few DJs can say they’ve done — win an Emmy award.

Rush has a side project, “The Russell Rush Haunted Tour,” a web-based paranormal investigation show. That show won a Lone Star Emmy in 2012 and picked up another this year for editing. The six-year-old show has also won other regional awards.

Rush occasionally makes use of station personnel with the project, which gets support and promotion from the station though it is not produced by KXXM.

“Our editor, Mike Beltran, and the team at Media Bar Productions once again did a phenomenal job of turning a vision into a masterpiece,” Rush said. He added, “The Haunted Tour is a labor of love and it feels incredible for our team to be recognized after all that hard work.”
