The new InVision series of suspension products from Rycote was on show during the recent European AES show in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The British firm presented eight different InVision models, all based around flexible W-shaped clips of varying diameters and suitable for use with a wide range of microphones from different manufacturers.
The rugged clips, or “lyres,” are designed to provide more effective isolation from unwanted vibrations.
The INV-1, INV-2 and INV-3 are for use with smaller-bodied microphones in static use, while models INV-4 to INV-8 are for static and boom-mounted applications with microphones measuring up to 30 millimeters in diameter.
The INV-7, for example, is suitable for the shockmounting of both fixed and boom pole-mounted microphones with diameters of 19 to 25 millimeters.
Microphones compatible with the INV-7 include the Schoeps CMIT 5U, Audio-Technica AT4073a, Sennheiser ME 66/K6, Neumann KMR 81 i, DPA 4017 and beyerdynamic MCE 86.
