Religious radio programmer Salem Communications has closed on the purchase of three AMs – WJGR, WZNZ and WZAZ – as well as FM station WBGB in Jacksonville, Fla., for $8.5 million from Concord Media Group Inc. It said it will continue the existing formats.
President/CEO Edward G. Atsinger III called it a rare opportunity “to buy stations in our strategic formats.” Steven L. Griffin will be the GM.
