Salem Communications promoted John Peroyea to the position of vice president of operations.
He replaces Rob Adair, senior vice president of operations, who now sheds that part of his workload.
Peroyea, who joined Salem eight years ago, continues to work as general manager of KLTY(FM) in Dallas, and will now oversee additional stations.
“To have one of your GMs become an operational vice president is gratifying. John’s a leader and a warrior,” said Adair.
Peroyea’s 35-year career in broadcast management began shortly before he acquired his first radio station at age 23. Since then, he has served as president of several radio groups including Progressive Broadcasting Corp., Narragansett Radio and Powell Broadcasting Co. Additionally, he has served as president of the Greater Dallas/Ft. Worth Association of Radio Broadcasters for more than seven years.
