Salem’s ‘Fish’ Christian Format Wins Gospel Music Award

The Gospel Music Association is adding another laurel to those won by Salem Communication’s “The Fish” radio station format by presenting the Impact Award, which honors an individual or organization’s contribution to the gospel music industry.
The award was given at the GMA’s Monday Morning Live membership meeting on April 21. Salem’s The Fish radio stations are formatted for contemporary Christian music, the first appearing in Los Angeles in 2000. Salem now has 14 Fish stations.
According to Salem, “These Fish stations bring contemporary Christian music to more people in the nation than any other group.”
