Sandusky Cues Quu

Seattle-area broadcaster first to use mobile service

Sandusky Seattle Radio is the first radio broadcaster to put the Quu technology platform on the “air.”

Superficially Quu acts as an interface for listeners to use mobile phone text messaging to contact the station. The overall Quu platform allows for the station to respond to listener text messages, either automatically with preset scripts or with original responses. Additional responses can include directions to Web sites, coupon or video downloads, invitations to polls and similar things. Also social networks can be constructed.

Quu is compatible with iPhone, Windows Mobile Smartphone, Pocket PC, BlackBerry, Motorola RAZR and Java devices, the company says.

Sandusky Seattle Radio GM Marc Kaye said in the announcement that Quu “provides a significant level of engagement and whose ROI is more readily documented.” He said he thinks the Quu form of couponing will prove to be popular.
