A fortnight after awarding its first license for a private radio station, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia awarded the second private FM license for the country; Extreme Creativity Trade Holdings Ltd. Co. (???? ??????? ??????? ??????? ????????) won the license.
The award is the second of a projected five licenses to be awarded during the first quarter of 2010. The first license was issued to the ?Alif ?Alif (??? ???) consortium at the end of January.
Extreme Creativity bid 66 million Saudi riyals for the license, which will include 20 transmission sites across Saudi Arabia, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
The remaining licenses are expected to be issued at a rate of one every two weeks; three licenses remain to be allocated.
