SBE Builds Mentor Program

Keiler and Burnham take program chairs

The Society of Broadcast Engineers announced the appointment of Charles Keiler and Paul Burnham to chair what the organization calls essential programs of the SBE.

Burnham, CPBE, and a field support manager for e2v Inc., is the new chairman for the SBE’s Mentor Sub-committee. This committee is working on the creation of the SBE’s new Mentor Program. The program is described as seeking to “to enhance the professional development of younger engineers in the broadcast industry by creating mentor relationships with more experienced engineers.”

Keiler, CPBE, 8-VSB, CBNT, and VP of engineering for Georgia Public Television, is the new chairman of the SBE Government Relations Committee. The committee is tasked with “developing and carrying out the advocacy efforts of the SBE.” A release notes that the SBE interacts with the FCC, other federal agencies and Congress on regulatory and legislative issues that have an impact on the broadcast engineering community.
