In an attempt to clean up its Universal Licensing System, the FCC issued Docket 05-23, a ruling that intends to identify licenses, locations, and frequencies that have not filed a timely notice of completion of construction.
SBE says the ruling was unclear on stations which hold broadcast auxiliary licenses (BAS) that allow transmitting devices for STL or ENG purposes. The Society has put together a primer on avoiding automatic termination of these licenses.
