The Society of Broadcast Engineers has announced the winners of its annual scholarships.
Ohio, the Buckeye State, provided two winners. Scholarships are worth $1,500 each and are aimed at students studying or planning a career in broadcast engineering or technology.
Winning the Harold E. Ennes Scholarship was Johnny Finley of Tacoma, Wash. Finley is a sophomore at Bates Technical College in Tacoma. He is studying broadcast and video production.
The recipient of the Robert Greenberg Scholarship is Jeffrey Edward Miller of Parma Heights, Ohio. He is a student at Cuyahoga Community College and studying electrical engineering.
Landing the SBE Youth Scholarship, for graduating high school students, was Michael Malec of Oregonia, Ohio. A graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School, he will be attending the University of Cincinnati, planning a major in electrical engineering. While in high school Malec helped design, build and operate the school’s radio station.
