SBE Schedules AM Rule Changes Webinar

Antenna protection becomes an issue, learn more

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has put together an educational October.

Oct. 24 will see a webinar concerning AM rule changes. The SBE says, “The FCC recently released a Report & Order detailing several rule changes that are very beneficial to AM radio stations, particularly those that employ directional arrays.”

It adds, “The rule changes make AM antenna protection universal across services, provide a mechanism for dealing with existing pattern interference, and provides for the use of moment-method modeling as the primary means of determining reradiation potential.”

Radio World contributor and Crawford Broadcasting Director of Engineering Cris Alexander, CPBE AMD, DRB, will discuss the changes and how they might impact your station.

The webinar is free to SBE members and $49 to nonmembers. It starts at 2 p.m. and requires registration.
