SBE Schedules RF Safety Course

Richard Strickland to helm late June session

The Society of Broadcast Engineers has scheduled a webinar entitled, “RF Safety,” for June 24, starting at 1 p.m.

It explains that the course offers an “updated overview of RF radiation issues and practices for broadcasters.”

Areas to be covered include transmission/downlink site, remote truck and related workplace hazards, the biological effects of RF and ionizing radiation, unique AM issues, FCC and OSHA regulations, safety equipment and signs. The SBE says the course is designed for broadcast station personnel, notably though not limited to engineering management and staff along with ENG and SNG personnel.

The instructor will be Richard Strickland of RF Safety Solutions.
