Spanish Broadcasting System calls “Red 96 Noticias FM” the first Spanish FM station that broadcasts news 24 hours a day in the United States and Puerto Rico.
SBS will launch RED 96 “Noticias FM” on Monday. The company said, “A key component of RED 96 will be its ongoing live presence at the scene of breaking news events around the country and Puerto Rico.” It will use correspondents in several major U.S. cities.
WCMA in Fajardo will change call letters soon to go along with the new format. Right now SBS is retransmitting programming from another station, Estereotempo.
