SBS Names Mackay to New Position

National and network revenue chief will direct sales efforts

The Spanish Broadcasting System has selected Joe Mackay as executive vice president of National and Network Sales.

Mackay will now oversee the revenue efforts at AIRE Radio Networks, the syndication and selling platform comprised of over 100 top Spanish-language radio stations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. He will also direct all national spot sales for the major-market SBS radio outlets in coordination with McGavren Guild, the company’s national sales representative.

Mackay had previously served as VP/General Manager of WLEY(FM), the SBS owned and operated FM outlet serving the Chicago market.

“Joe Mackay has distinguished himself as an aggressive revenue generator in every single assignment he’s ever taken on,” said SBS Chairman and CEO Raul Alarcon. “We’re confident in his ability to coordinate our national spot and network efforts in order to maximize the potential of our Hispanic audience for all non-local advertisers and clients.”

Spanish Broadcasting System is a U.S. publicly-traded media and entertainment company that concentrates on Spanish-speaking and Hispanic listeners. SBS owns and operates 20 radio stations in the top U.S.
