The Southern California Broadcasters Association is honoring the late Stan Spero with a scholarship to be awarded each year to a student participating in a radio broadcast studies program at a local college.
SCBA is asking for help from the broadcast community in donating to the scholarship. Tax-deductible donations can be sent to the California Community Foundation, or checks made out to the foundation can be sent to SCBA and will be forwarded.
Additionally, Spero’s wife Harriette will host a tribute to his memory on Nov. 7 at the Autry National Center. Attendance is open. Donations to the scholarship also will be accepted at this event.
