SCBA Holds Engineering Training

Annual information and training sessions at winter conference

The South Carolina Broadcasters Association’s Winter Conference will feature its annual engineering information and training sessions. The conference is Jan. 30–31, in Columbia, S.C.

Sessions of interest for the radio engineer would include, “Repacking’s Impact on TV and FM Radio Stations” with Joe Zuba of Dielectric; Burk Technology’s Matt Leland will address “Best Practices for Modern Transmitter Remote Control;” a look at “Tower Safety” with John Hanna of Tower and Communications; “Underbuilding IP to Your Existing STLs” with Jeff Holdenrid of DoubleRadius and Scott Johnson of Fletcher, Heald and Hildreth will have a “Regulatory Update.”

There will also be a pair of useful breakout sessions with Shively Labs’ Bob Surette speaking on filters and Don Backus of Broadcast Electronics discussing automation. Both of these groups are scheduled for Jan. 30.

The conference will also have an exhibition floor featuring such manufacturers as Broadcast Electronics, BSW, BGS, Comrex, Continental Electronics, DoubleRadius, ERI, Nautel, RCS, RF Specialties South, SCMS, Shively Labs, Wheatstone and WideOrbit.
